ALL-SCHOOL AWARDS ASSEMBLY
The Evergreen Awards Program will be held on Friday, May 12 at 8 am in the high school gym. Underclassmen and seniors, including Four County students, will be honored for their academic achievements over the past four years. Seniors are required to wear their cap and gown to the Awards Assembly. The public is welcome to attend.
The Four County Senior Recognition Ceremony will take place Tuesday, May 23 at 9:15 am in the diesel lab at the Four County Career Center. The public is welcome to attend.
Please Note: In order to condense the Commencement Ceremony, the individual awards and scholarships will not be announced during graduation, please plan on attending the Awards Assembly for a complete update.
FINAL GRADE CARDS
Year-end grade cards for underclassmen should be received in the mail the week of June 5. Senior grade cards and transcripts will be mailed home in mid-June.
The Evergreen School District will be participating in the Open Enrollment program for the 2017-2018 school year. A student from any Ohio school district may apply to attend the Evergreen School District tuition free. Parents/students interested in the Open Enrollment program need to apply in the Superintendent’s office by June 1, 2017.
AP Exams -- Students who have registered to take the Advanced Placement Calculus or the Advanced Placement English Language and Composition exam must pay the $84 exam fee prior to taking the exam. The AP Calculus exam will take place on Tuesday, May 9. The AP Language and Composition exam will be given on Wednesday, May 10.The exams starts promptly at 8:00 am at Evergreen High School. No make-up testing is allowed.
Selective Service Registration -- Young men who are about to turn 18 years or are already 18, need to register with the Selective Service. It is a federal law to register within 30 days of your 18th birthday. You also need to register to be eligible for certain benefits such as federal student aid, job training, and most federal employment. Registration may now be completed on the Internet. You need to have your social security number and then log on to the selective service web site at: http://www.sss.gov.
Make up credit coursework -- All online credits required for graduation, need to be completed by Wednesday, May 24. Students planning to graduate and participate in commencement MUST meet the May 24 deadline -- no exceptions! This means that all tests and final exams must be taken and credit awarded, prior to this deadline.
Final Transcripts -- Final senior transcripts and grade cards will be mailed to seniors and colleges in mid-June.
High School Commencement -- Graduation practice will be Friday, May 26 at 9 am in the high school gym. Seniors must attend this practice in order to participate in the graduation ceremony! The Commencement Ceremony will be Sunday, May 28 at 2 pm; seniors need to report to the high school art room by 1:30 pm.
Graduation Photo – During the graduation ceremony, Siefker Photography will take a professional photograph of each senior as he/she walks across the stage and receives his/her diploma. Each graduate will receive one photo free of charge. The photo will be mailed home with the students’ grade card and final transcript in June. Additional photos may be viewed and purchased online at www.siefkerphotography.com.
Leah Schwan has been accepted to Bowling Green State University where she has been accepted into the College of Music and awarded a $6,000 academic scholarship and a $1,000 music education scholarship. Leah has also been accepted to Miami University and its music program. Miami University has awarded her a $5,500 academic scholarship and a $13,000 music scholarship.
Kayla Miller has been accepted to Kent State University where she has been awarded a KSU Trustee Scholarship totaling $14,000 over four years. She is also the recipient of a Fulton County Pork Producers $500 Scholarship.
The next issue will recap the Student Awards Assembly, held May 12, 2017. All of the student awards and scholarships will be listed.
